Curriculum Vitae
Current Position
I am a researcher at the Department of Control and Computer Engineering, Politecnico di Torino, where I am an active member of the SMILIES research group. My work focuses on cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IoT), software engineering, and human-computer interaction. My recent research also includes automotive cybersecurity.
Research and Teaching
Research
I completed my Ph.D. in Computer Engineering at Politecnico di Torino in October 2024. My thesis, titled "Securing IoT Gateways in Smart Home Environments" (PDF), focused on IoT security and smart home security.
My current research focuses primarily on automotive cybersecurity. I am involved in the COLTRANE-V project and working on Social Media Automotive Threat Intelligence (SOCMATI). I also conduct research on real-time embedded systems reliability, with a particular focus on FreeRTOS and fault injection techniques.
Teaching
Since March 2021, I have been one of the teaching assistants for "Applicazioni Web I" / "Web Application I" (M.Sc. in Computer Engineering). I prepared laboratory materials and solutions, supported students during lab sessions, occasionally gave lectures, and contributed to exam preparation and oral evaluations.
Since September 2024, I have also been one of the teachers of "Algorithms and Programming" (B.Sc. for Electronic and Communications Engineering), a course focused on advanced programming and design-oriented skills.
Earlier teaching support included courses such as Distributed Programming 1, Distributed Programming 2, Operating Systems, Computer Architectures, and Computer Science.
Previous Experience
I worked in the IoT & Pervasive Technologies (IPT) department, researching, developing, and validating distributed IoT and cyber-physical systems, including Industry 4.0 scenarios. My activities focused on integrating heterogeneous devices and systems, supporting project development and management, and contributing to internal technical assets.
Selected project activities:
- MONICA (H2020 smart city and IoT project): Assistant technical coordinator, contributed to the SCRAL framework and the MONICA Development Toolbox
- INCIT-EV (electric mobility and EV charging): Assistant technical coordinator
- Plastic and Rubber 4.0: Contributed as a developer to Industry 4.0 activities
IPT department roles:
- Selection and interviewing of thesis and internship candidates
- Communication contact for the research projects of our research area
I provided student-to-student academic tutoring for courses including Distributed Programming 2, Operating Systems, Distributed Programming 1, Computer Architectures, and Computer Science, covering both Bachelor's and Master's level courses.
I developed Java and XML modules for Android-based IoT devices for home automation and security management.
